Ways to Give

There’s more than one way to leave a lasting impact.

Thank you for being here, and becoming a part of a shared legacy and story.

Below we’ve detailed the different ways you can give, including traditional monetary donations, as well as gifts of art and objects toward the collection, and passive donations through using Amazon Smile while you shop. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to sbecker@roberson.org.

Ways to Give

Always consult your financial planner, tax advisor, or accountant. Roberson Museum and Science Center does not provide financial advice.

Amazon Smile

Every time you shop on Amazon, a portion of your purchase can benefit Roberson at no cost to you.

Go to Smile.Amazon.com and select “Roberson Museum and Science Center” in Binghamton as your charity of choice.

Art & Objects

Roberson is a Museum!  We rely on donations of significant artistic and historical objects for visitors to enjoy. There are tax incentives for these kinds of gifts, too.

Ask to speak with the Executive Director about what you’d like to donate.  We can’t take everything, but if it makes sense for the Collection and we can care for it, we’d love to discuss your offer.

Cryptocurrency Donation
If you’d perter to make a donation with cryptocurrency, we won’t say no.

Go through the Engiven website to make with the cryptocurrency of your choice.

Required Minimum Distribition

Once you reach age 70½, you are normally required to take distributions from your retirement account.

Your financial advisor can help you move money directly from your IRA, 401k, 403b, or other retirement account directly to Roberson, avoiding income tax.

Vehicle Donation

If selling your old car, truck, boat, or RV is too much hassle, we’ll arrange for its removal and you may be eligible for a tax deduction of the value of the vehicle.

Call 607-772-0660 and ask for the Development Director or email info@roberson.org for more information.

Stock Transfer

If you’re looking to divest some of your portfolio without capital gains, you can transfer your stocks directly to Roberson.

Most life insurance and retirement plans require you to list a beneficiary.

As a non-profit entity, Roberson can be named as the beneficiary of these plans. Ask your insurance broker or retirement plan administrator how you can add the Museum to your list of beneficiaries.

Making a bequest to Roberson helps to secure your legacy and is not subject to inheritance tax.

You can include Roberson in your Will or as a beneficiary of your accounts.  Already done this?  Let us know!
