Scott Hickey: Veterans in Bronze displays the faces of six local veterans cast in bronze. This installation was all made possible through Scott Hickey and the Vet Art project, based in San Diego.
Vet Art aims to help veterans individually and broadly. Organizers give veterans a place to learn about the ceramic process and socialize with other veterans. Scott Hickey, who has roots in the Binghamton area, is an instructor and helped the six local veterans represented in the images below, create the wax molds into which the bronze is poured.
Support for this exhibition is provided by the general operations support grants from the United Cultural Fund, a program of the Broome County Arts Council; the Conrad and Virginia Klee Foundation; the Zoos, Botanical Gardens and Aquariums Program, administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreational, and Historical Preservation; and the New York State Council for the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
