Welcome to NatureTrek, an exploration and celebration of the natural world that surrounds us. Anchored by over 150 mounted specimens from Roberson’s Lee J. Loomis collection, NatureTrek invites you to walk through the established deciduous and transitional forests, wetlands, meadow, and backyard habitats that abound in our region. On your journey, you’ll meet dozens of mammals and birds that occupy these ecological niches. Having made their acquaintance, you’ll learn where you can see them in nature preserves close to your home, and what you can do to assure that they, and the places they live, continue to prosper.
Support for this exhibition is provided by the Robert F. Schumann Foundation; the George A. and Margaret Mee Foundation; the Triad Foundation. The general operations support grants from the United Cultural Fund, a program of the Broome County Arts Council; the Conrad and Virginia Klee Foundation; the Zoos, Botanical Gardens and Aquariums Program, administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreational, and Historical Preservation; and the New York State Council for the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
