Talk and Draw: Jules Gotay

September 24, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

You’re encouraged to draw through this art history talk!

Together, we’ll examine a particular piece from the Roberson Museum’s art collection and then respond by making our own piece based off of this particular work.

Take an hour during your Friday afternoon to relax, while we draw and learn more about a piece, together. We all learn better when we are able to act on what we’re absorbing.

Suitable for anyone interested in art history and drawing.

Each month we will discuss and draw a new piece, so please feel free to join in for multiple sessions.

This month we’ll be creating a piece based on Jules Gotay’s poetic pieces. Each of his pieces begins with words and the image follows. We’ll be using this technique as a way to fill our own canvases, as we learn more about his process. Jules Gotay’s works are currently on-view until October.

All you need to participate are a pen, pencil, and piece of paper.
