Roberson is pleased to show the artwork of Joseph Opshinsky in the second floor gallery, and this exhibition is one that’s worth seeing up-close.
At a distance, Opshinsky’s work looks like a series of vibrant paintings, but upon closer inspection they are cut paper placed and layered into an intricate collage.
“This medium provides an engaging set of challenges in terms of color, composition, and representation, all beginning with an initial contour line drawing,” said Opshinsky. “Through the meticulous process of hand cutting and layering the colorful shapes of paper my images evoke a sense of place and a wonder of the oft-overlooked landscape.”
Admission to Roberson is $8 for Adults; $6 for students, seniors, and military; free for children 4 and under. Members are also free.
