Roberson announces 2010 Home for the Holidays Celebration

It’s FUN, it’s MAGIC, it’s a COMMUNITY TRADITION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The lights, the trees, the celebration!  Roberson Museum and Science Center announces its annual Home for the Holidays display, November 26 – January 2. 

This year Roberson’s theme is “A Magical Time of Year.”

Community members and local business organizations are busy at work decorating their displays throughout Roberson’s mansion and museum.  Roberson invites you to rediscover the holidays and join the magic of this longstanding holiday tradition.  Each year our Home for the Holidays celebration welcomes thousands of visitors who explore the wonders of holiday traditions from around the world.

The dazzling displays throughout the mansion and museum will all be made even more fun by the presence of music, dance and interactive activities for families.

Tuesday, November 23

Decorator Reception 5-6pm and Members’ Opening 6:30-8:30pm

Wednesday, November 24

Open 12-3pm

Closed Thanksgiving Day

Friday, November 26

Roberson officially opens extended Home for the Holidays hours at 11am featuring dancers, musicians, planetarium shows and crafts activities.

 

Roberson will be open 7 days:  Monday-Sunday 11-5 with Fridays being open 11-9.

Home for the Holidays features special Planetarium shows every Friday at 8pm, and Saturday and Sundays at 12, 1, 2 and 3.

Support provided by the general operations support grants from the United Cultural Fund, a program of the Broome County Arts Council; the Conrad and Virginia Klee Foundation; the Zoos, Botanical Gardens and Aquariums Program, administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreational, and Historical Preservation; and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
