What is RoberCon?

Engage in your favorite fandoms and hobbies over the course of two days at RoberCon, which usually takes place within the Roberson Museum. But these are unusual times, so this year we’re holding everything online.

You’ll connect with groups and other fans–no matter your passion or fandom. Accepting geeks since 2012.

The convention takes place Sep 26 – 27 from 10AM – 5PM both days (plus some after hours stuff).

Where is RoberCon?

Usually RoberCon is held in Binghamton, NY. However, this year, the convention will take place online across Zoom and Discord.

What can I expect to do at RoberCon?

Connect with people through panels, tabletop gaming, wandering the convention halls, and writing workshops with published authors. There’s also a cosplay contest on Sunday and late-night gaming Saturday on the Discord server.

There are also merchants ready to show off their books, art, plushies, figurines, games, and all manner of geek-related items. There will also be fan groups to connect with and join.

Who are the Special Guests this year?

DR. PANTS

Dr. Pants Live
Dr. Pants

FREE Live concert on September 25 at 8PM. Zoom link will be posted week before concert.

Dr. Pants is the stage name of Oklahoma City-based composer/guitarist/vocalist David Broyles, whose style can best be described as “nerd power groove rock.” If Weezer and Beck made a baby with Frank Zappa, that baby would be Dr. Pants.

Over the past 20 years, Dr. Pants has released a series of albums, EPs and singles that have spanned genres from rock and funk to electronica and experimental. A scan through Broyles’ catalog shows a strong geek influence.

OUR FAMILY PLAYS GAMES

Our Family Plays GamesStarla and Miklo invite audiences to go on a gaming journey as they introduce families to new and exciting modern board games. They are on a mission to bring more families in general and families of color in particular to this ever-growing hobby. Finding that over the years, this is a great way to bond with their children and make friends with other families!

Our Family Plays Games YoutTube channel

Our Family Plays Games will be giving a live presentation over Zoom on Saturday, September 26. Virtual badge required.

Am I welcome at RoberCon?

Yes. Plain and simple. We made this convention for geeks, so we could connect with other people who like the things we like. We made it to connect with you.
